“This is very fine and polished with berry, chocolate and lemon rind character. Medium body, firm tannins and a fresh finish. A blend of cabernet franc, merlot, syrah and cabernet sauvignon. Delicious now.” – James Suckling
“The 2013 Aria di Caiarossa is a blend of 28% Syrah, 22% Cabernet Franc, 21% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Sauvignon and 13% Alicante. This wine works well, strapping together its various parts to create tight unity and balance. It shows a rich and velvety texture with lingering flavors of dark fruit, spice and smoke. The mouthfeel is velvety, smooth and enduring.” – Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
“A blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, this opens with aromas of blackberry, ripe plum, menthol, spice and a balsamic note. The dense, full-bodied palate doles out juicy black cherries, spiced blueberries, clove and licorice alongside chewy but fine-grained tannins.” – Wine Enthusiast
Tasting Note: Crispness and admirable balance are the hallmarks of Aria di Caiarossa, a blend of four noble varieties that mirrors the estate philosophy. This wine is notable for its spicy balsam, velvety texture, and dense, fine-grained tannins. Macerated on the skins between 15 and 25 days. Alcoholic fermentation in concrete tanks of 50 hectoliters (only indigenous yeasts) at controlled temperature, max. 28°C. Two pumping-over a day for about 7 to 10 days, then once a day until the end of maceration. Malolactic fermentation in concrete tanks and wooden casks. Aged in barriques and tonneaux for about 14 months, using 15% of new oak. Then 6 months in concrete tanks before bottling. Drink over the next 10-15 years.
