“This is fresh, evoking cherry, leather and woodsy aromas and flavors, with intensity and length. Firm and tense, with a fluid texture and lingering accents of leather, tobacco and underbrush. Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Drink now through 2024.” – Wine Spectator
“A tangy and fresh red with berry, chocolate, lemon and hints of cedar. Medium to full body, polished tannins and a clean finish. A blend of sangiovese, cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon and merlot. Beautiful now and into the future.” – James Suckling
Tasting Note: Following the Tuscan tradition, Sangiovese dominates in this blend, shaping Pergolaia into a wine of intense bouquet, seductive body with soft tannins and superb depth. Mainly Sangiovese with small amount of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, from the Podere Serra all’olio and Podere Nocolino vineyards.
