Tasting Note: Settlement Vineyard is planted on the slopes of the Omaka Valley in Marlborough. Owned by Dog Point and managed with immense intelligence and insight by viticulturist Nigel Sowman. East Slope lies in a north-north-east orientation and is planted at a density of 4,000 vines per hectare on clay-rich soils. BioGro certified. Our first and the youngest of our grower micro-sites; precious, and as usual radiating its earthy warmth, freshness and red-fruitedness. Quite sleek (vintage) but it gets around. The energy and generosity are to enjoy every time.
Winemaking Notes: The Omaka Settlement Vineyard is planted on a north-facing hillside in Marlborough’s Omaka Valley. The warmth and succulence delivered by the clay bound mid-slope is captured in this Pinot Noir. This wine has not been subjected to cold stabilisation and was bottled unfined and unfiltered – a small natural deposit may occur.
Variety: Pinot Noir
Region: Marlborough, New Zealand
