“Creamy, seamless chardonnay with lemon, citrus, spicy French oak, brioche and a whole host of subtle flavours that are hard to identify but delicious to taste. Great texture and subtle power with a lingering finish.” – Bob Campbell MW
“Good juiciness, depth and palate weight with impressive complexity, palate softness and energy. A very complete and harmonious wine. Delicious.” – Toni Patterson MW
“Simply put, this is one of the best value Australian chardonnays being made. It has a magic marriage of well-judged complexity with grapefruit, peaches, lemons and nectarines wrapped in a gun flinty and hazelnutty shroud of complexity. The palate merges pastry-like smoothness and concentration with electrifying acid freshness. Drink now.” – James Suckling
Tasting Note: Fruit sourced from the Sexton, Gruyere Farm, Tarraford, Applejack, and Wombat Creek Vineyards. Balanced style Chardonnay with striking aromas hinting at oak influence without overpowering. Stone fruit nuances and citrus complexity on the palate lead to a soft-yet-strong, persistent finish.
Winemaking Notes: 100% hand-picked, all fruit is chilled overnight to 12 deg C. Whole bunch pressed, fermentation on full juice solids, wild yeast. Fermented entirely in 500L French puncheons – 10% new, 90% older. No lees stirring. No malolactic fermentation. Matured in French oak – 10% new, 90% older – for only 8 months. Blended and chilled in tank prior to bottling in late Spring.
