Honoro Vera Rioja 2017:
90/100 – James Suckling
Tasting Note: Made from Tempranillo grapes, native from Rioja located in the north of Spain. 6 months fermentation in old French oak. This is a well-balanced wine, driven by red fruit with spicy and earthy notes on the nose. Ripe tannins, savoury and mineral hints with a pleasant cocoa finish.
Region: La Rioja, Spain
Can Blau ‘Blau’ 2017:
5 stars – Raymond Chan (2015 vintage)
93/100 – James Suckling (2015 vintage)
Tasting Note: Wood smoke, spice box, incense, lavender, black cherry and plum aromas are followed by a mouth-filling, round, dense wine with outstanding grip and length. It over-delivers in a big way.
Varietal: Carignan, Syrah and Garnacha
Region: Montsant, Spain
