“Medium ruby-purple in color, the 2011 Pinot Noir displays pronounced ripe cherry, black raspberry and blueberry coulis fruit notes with a mint and dried herb undercurrent plus a suggestion of lavender. Medium-bodied and packed with slowly evolving Pinot flavors, it has a great line of fine-grained tannins and just enough freshness to lift the long finish.” – Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate

“Deeply savory and earthy, this has handy spices that are integrated into the nose and palate along with darker cherry flavors and gravelly tannins. In the zone. Drink now.” – James Suckling

“The 2011 vintage was estate-grown on the north side of the Wairau Valley, fermented with indigenous yeasts, matured for 18 months in French oak barriques, and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Ruby-hued, with moderately youthful colour, it is mouthfilling, with concentrated, ripe plum/spice flavours, slightly earthy notes adding complexity, gentle tannins, and a rounded finish. Drinking well now, it’s certified organic.” – Michael Cooper

Tasting Note: An exceptional rich ruby red wine of outstanding depth and structure. Fresh, vibrant and alluring it displays notes of fresh raspberries, black cherries and dark plums with a ‘smoky’ undertone held together with ripe tannins and fine acidity and minerality. This elegant stunner will age beautifully over the next 10+ years.
