4 stars – Michael Cooper
“Estate-grown on the Karikari Peninsula, in the Far North, the 2014 vintage is full-coloured and mouthfilling, with generous, ripe, plummy, spicy flavours and the earthy streak typical of Pinotage. Concentrated and firmly structured, it should be at its best 2018+.” – Michael Cooper
“Winemaker Alan Collinson has unleashed a wine that literally had me leap around yelling at people in my office to taste it. Perfumed, plush, plump and packed with sexy berries and concentrated cocoa, spices and sarsaparilla characters, it’s my new favourite thing. Fresh acidity and soft, stretchy tannins and luscious length of flavour. Gorgeous.” – Yvonne Lorkin
Tasting Note: This Pinotage is deeply coloured with richness of red fruit aromas and wild game, blueberries and a gamey earthy balance. A smooth rich palate, displaying dark fruits, berries and hints of plum with extended tannins and dark chocolate. Not for the faint hearted!
