Meyer-Nakel Krauterberg GG 14

$250.00 inc. GST

Accolades:
94/100 – Falstaff Magazine
92/100 – James Suckling

“The name of this site means herb mountain and that’s very much how it smells. This is still rather backward, but clearly has some real concentration and tannic power.” – James Suckling

Tasting Note: Krauterberg is the smallest GG site at only 0.7ha, and its soils are composed of weathered blue slate with stony and sandy loam. Still young, this Krauterberg needs a long decant to show its potential, gaining weight and power as it opens up. Red berries, crushed stone and cranberry, with more dark spices (cinnamon, clove) than the other two GGs. With time, a lengthy, creamy finish emerges as the acidity backs off, and it is altogether a sumptuous experience.

Alcohol: 13.5%
