Pio Cesare Barolo 2012
$175.00 inc. GST
“This is a young Barolo that builds on the palate with super silky tannins and fantastic pure and delicious fruit. Hints of hazelnut, plum and dark berry character. Full and polished tannins. Better in 2019 but so delicious now.” – James Suckling
Tasting Note: A warm vintage has been given justice here, making it accessible in its youth. Classic liquorice and spice Barolo notes build in intensity. Can be drunk now but could go for decades in the cellar. As with most Barolo patience will be rewarded.
Winemaking Notes: Pio Cesare limits its production by using only the most mature and healthy grapes. The ripening of the grapes is carefully monitored and the harvest is rigidly controlled with each grape selected by hand.
