95/100 – Bob Campbell MW
“A blend of merlot 59%, cabernet sauvignon 18%, cabernet franc 14% and carménère 9%. The 2012 was a challenging vintage, but hand-picking and careful selection appears to have produced a ripe, elegant and very appealing red that has defied the odds. A mix of berry, fresh herbs, spices and classy oak characters. Delicious now but with some potential.” – Bob Campbell MW
Tasting Note: A favourable growing season produced a very open and generous expression of Estate, which is on the softer and gentler end of the Bordeaux-style spectrum, but with excellent structure. Oak influence is barely detectable here, suggesting good early development. Fragrant with plum and red fruits underpinned by some savoury nuances and fine-grained tannins. The finish is ample and warming, an ideal accompaniment for winter braises.
