“Fresh, floral and ripe red fruited bouquet. Scents of cherry and red apple, some strawberry and wet pebbles lead to a satin textured palate with flavours that mirror the bouquet. Crisp and dry with super fine tannins delivering a velvet texture. Contrasting acidity adds a crispness carrying the flavours across the palate. “Delicious now, this characterful wine was hand-harvested from mature vines and handled in a cocnrete, egg-shaped tank, an oak vat and French oak barrels. Bright, light yellow/green, it is mouthfilling and very generous, with savoury, complex flavours, a slightly creamy texture, and excellent richness and harmony.” – Michael Cooper

Tasting Note: Aromas of golden stone fruit, baked lemon pie, vanilla custard, hazelnuts, and wet stone followed by a rich, round mouth feel and lingering acidity with hints of nectarine and apricot on the palate. A great food wine.

Winemaking Notes: Sourced from old vines planted in the heart of the Wairau Plain, the fruit for this wine was hand-picked and whole bunch pressed. The juice was then fermented by indigenous yeast in range of French oak vessels (including barriques. puncheons and a cuve) and matured sur lies for 10 months before bottling.
