Accolades:

“Gorgeous aromas of dried peaches, honey, cooked apples, toffee, and caramel follow through to a full body, with racy and energetic acidity that runs the length. Very sweet. Pure muller-thurgau. Drink now.” – James Suckling

“Vivid amber yellow. A delicately perfumed nose with a layer of floral aromas, mandarins, lemon peel and chervil. Underneath is a warm layer of spice and caramel. The palate, although obviously very sweet, comes across luscious rather than syrupy, with good tension, complex waxy, grapefruit flavours punctuated by late emergence of pineapple and a twist of limy acidity. The aromatics and flavour are diffuse and light-weight rather than intense, giving the wine an air of levity, almost ethereal for such a sweet and luscious wine. Beautifully balanced and hard to resist. Drink 2024 to 2029.” – Stephen Wong MW

Tasting Note: A rich, caramelly bouquet of fragrant candied apricots and orange blossom alongside flavours of cedar and a hint of honeycomb. A welcoming entrance of ripe peaches with notes of caramelised pear and honeydew melon underlined by layers of silky spice.

Winemaking Notes: From various pickings in April 2022. The growing season was near perfect, with early flowing and favorable fruit set. Nature was on our side up until an unusually wet February and March, which left us with a very narrow picking window. This luscious wine obtained its name from the Italian Vintner who started planting this vineyard in Martinborough in 1989. Hand-picked, whole bunch pressed and fermented in stainless steel. Fermentation stopped at 9.5%VOL.
