Francois de Nicolay Clos Vougeot Grand Cru 2017

$795.00 inc. GST

Accolades:
92/100 – Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate

“There are two barrels of the 2017 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru, an expressive wine that bursts from the glass with aromas of rose petals, ripe cherries and creamy new oak. On the palate, it’s full-bodied, ample and satiny, with succulent acids and an expansive finish. From a superbly sited parcel, after the frosts of 2016 and the generous yields of 2017, it will be exciting to see what de Nicolay can do with a more favorable growing season.” – Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate

Tasting Note: From the vineyard ‘Le Petit Maupertuis’, found mid-hill and to the south of the appellation. Emblematic of the Côtes de Nuits, this Grand Cru is rich and demonstrative, with well-ripened black fruit, it exhibits a full and powerful body with a beautiful minerality on the finish. Ideally drink between 10-30 years. Pair with game in reduced sauce, roasted pigeon or even pan-fried forest mushrooms. From 50 year-old vines, matured 20 months in oak barrels and bottled on the property.
