Visiting Great Little Vineyards is a wine-buying experience like no other.
Our store in the heart of Orakei Bay Village is where wine comes alive, through stories, conversations, and of course tasting. In addition to our entire portfolio of small-production, sustainably grown wines from New Zealand and around the world, we also stock a range of rare treasures, large formats and one-off releases.
Every wine buyer is different, so our team of passionate wine experts are here to guide you through a journey of discovery. Though we’re all self-professed wine geeks, we’re not interested in technical jargon or flowery descriptions – for us, the most important thing is making great wine an experience everyone can enjoy. Whether it’s for a special occasion or everyday drinking, real wine should come from real people. Our entire team tastes and evaluates wine before it’s allowed to end up on our shelves, and we’ve hand-picked only wines with soul, integrity, good provenance and quality so you don’t have to.
In addition to making informed recommendations, we deliver our wines with a very high standard of customer service at every level. We don’t just want you to walk out with a bottle of wine – we know everyone’s palate is different, so we want to have found the right wine for your tastes, and we want that wine to come with a story of where it has come from and who has made it.
As wholesale distributors for all thirty-five of our vineyards, we usually have a bottle or two open for our customers to sample. Just ask when you stop by! We’re always delighted to share both the wine and its story.
