Olle x Rock Ferry Pinot Noir 2022

$45.00 inc. GST

Tasting Note: “Slightly deeper broodier red hued appearance with a slightly unfiltered look. Aromas of fresh black cherry and baked red berry fruits – raspberry and boysenberry, then scents of soil along with some oak and lees layers.  Some classic Otago savoury dried herb qualities add complexity and charm. Delicious on the palate with texture, core fruit flavours that reflect the bouquet and length. Fine through not so fine tannins, plenty of acidity and as the wine opens out in glass more complexity and sense of place through the ideas of mineral and soil. Taut and youthful still with best drinking likely from mid to late 2026 through 2034.” – Cameron Douglas MS

Winemaking Notes: Handpicked fruit was de-stemmed and fermented in a selection of stainless steel and French oak open top red fermenters. 5% of the fruit was fermented as whole clusters in select ferments. Natural fermentation lasted an average of 8 days, with an average of 3 weeks on skins. The wine was gently pressed into French oak barrels and puncheons, 10% new, and matured for 10 months before filtering and bottling.  Clones: Abel, 10/5, 5, 6, and Dijon clones 115, 777 and 667.
