“The 2023 Pinot Noir Jardin Eden was made from a single plot in Grand Cru Mambourg. This was planted in 2015 to a massal selection. The ferment contained 50% whole bunches, raised in one 600-liter barrel. It’s darker but translucent in hue and beautifully aromatic with ripe, wild, red cherry notes. The palate shows the beauty of that fruit, with silky tannins and the smooth weave of its structure. This has subtle density, immense freshness, a beautiful lift and exquisite purity. It is so sinuous and exquisite.” – Vinous

Quite some fine-grained tannins underlie the excellent depth of sour cherry aromas in this medium-bodied Alsace pinot noir. It keeps pumping out the red fruit flavors in the long, well-structured finish. Very limited production. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Drinkable now, but best from 2026.” – James Suckling

Tasting Note: Very concentrated and elegant, with its power deftly underplayed. Complex, youthful nose of flint and raw meat with notes of dried strawberries and wet leaves, the fruit expanding as the wine aerates. Stunning concentration with plenty of fine tannins that are already beautifully integrated. The crescendo finish is at once powerful and lively.
