“I love the acacia blossom and Mirabelle plum aromas of this exciting and deeply structured Alsace dry riesling. So much drive and energy, although the palate is sleek and at the bottom end of medium-bodied. Intensely chalky finish. The first vintage bottled under this name. From a vineyard site with marl and limestone soil. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drinkable now, but best from 2026.” – James Suckling
“The 2023 Riesling Soedlen was named after the eponymous parcel neighboring Clos Hauserer on deep soils of marl atop limestone. This is all dried apple peel, hayflower, chamomile and dried lemon peel aromas, with a touch of white peach beckoning in distance. The palate is beautifully incisive, cool and profound, yet somehow gentle in all its citric brightness and luminosity (Bone Dry).” – Vinous
