“Glorious colour; a juicy, vibrant mouthfeel; fruit, oak and tannins interlocked on a gloriously long palate.” – James Halliday
“Deep ruby-red core into a vibrantly bright purple rim. Mulberry, ground coffee tobacco aromatics. Deep and brooding with dark fruits, leaf matter and black graphite minerality. There’s a sense of coiled intensity, not yet revealing all of itself just yet. The tannins are big but of a fine grain and it goes so very long to the finish. Needs time and a good roasted joint of beef to make the most of the experience. Drink 2023 to 2036.” – Stuart Knox, The Real Review
“Fresh, violet-like aromas with blue and red-berry tones, too. This is so pure and vibrant. The palate has very elegant shape and fluid, fine tannins that deliver red-berry, plum and blueberry flavors. Drink over the next seven years. Screw cap.” – James Suckling
Tasting Note: The ‘junior’ Diana Madeline. 63% Cullen Vineyard, 37% Mangan Vineyard – 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc, 1% Malbec, harvested 8th February – 10th March. 12 different picks on fruit and flower days. Aged 8 months in 33% new oak. This wine was produced on a certified Biodynamic, Carbon Neutral and naturally powered estate. Bouquet: Cabernet varietal red fruits, cigar box, chocolate, ironstone, mulberry and plum. Palate: Rich dark chocolate and mulberry. Dense, firm tannins that powerfully travel across the front palate screaming quality cabernet pedigree, with young dense forest fruits spiralling around the mid palate crying out for food and time in the bottle.
