“Malbec and petit verdot. A brighter, vibrant expression of ‘luncheon Claret’ with tension, wonderful tannin profile and mouth-watering acidity strong features. Black berry, sage and bay leaf notes, faint sea spray and a whiff of liquorice. Feels very fine, actually. Polished and poised. Really gluggable at the same time, curiously. Excellent wine.” – Mike Bennie, The Wine Front

“This is such a vibrant and beautiful belnd of malbec and petit verdot from this vineyard. You get the sense of life and genergy with the first look at the colour. Then the lifted red floral fruit on the nose kicks in. The grainy, textural feel on the palate extends effortlessly to a long finish. A classy wine that sells for a ridiculously low price. Grab some.” – Ray Jordan, The Western Australian

“First violet and white pepper-edged blackberry, then sappier apple notes, and finally on opening up, sweeter blueberry fruit. Malbec accounts for the deep hue and this wine’s signature juicy vitality. Petit Verdot’s small berries add light grip to otherwise discreet, gravelly tannins. Only 57% of the wine is aged in seasoned French oak, accentuating the fruit purity.” – Sarah Ahmed, Decanter

Tasting Note: 61% Malbec, 39% Petit Verdot from the Mangan vineyard. Deep red with purple tinges. Plum, pomegranate and mulberry notes. Fruit intensity and beautifully balanced. Soft fine grained tannins with Malbec plushness and Pertit Verdot’s drive and mineralogy. Cellar with confidence for at least 10 years.
