“Cherry, fresh blackberry, a fair bit of wild herb and floral perfume here too, and an earthy spicy character. It’s crisp, medium-bodied, a cool glassy and ‘mineral’ feel to acidity, so lively, slate-like grip to tannin, kind of chewy, with bright cranberry acidity to close and a pleasant chicory bitterness. It’s what you might call an ‘original’ wine style, and strange to say, perhaps, but feels Italianate to me. I really like it.” – Gary Walsh, The Wine Front

“The 2020 Mangan Vineyard Red Moon os a blend of Malbec, Petit Verdot and Merlot. It’s light and it’s fine and it lingers. One might expect a more intense wine from these varieties, but in fact, this is a concentrated and weightless rendition. There are notes of raspberry, licorice, tobacco, aniseed, cardamom and star anise. The tannins—chalky as they are—are a highlight. Drink 2022 to 2028.” – Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
