Dosterras El Niño Tinto 2019

$55.00 inc. GST

Accolades:
91/100 – James Suckling

“Meaty and gamey black cherries, tapenade and freshly turned earth on the nose. Medium-to full-bodied with creamy tannins and crisp acidity. Lively, with more sweet, dark cherries and smoky character on the palate. Spicy, gamey and flavorful. Syrah. Drink or hold.” – James Suckling

Tasting Note: 100% Syrah from a new vineyard in the Dosterras holdings. Cherry red colour, clean and bright. Red and black fruits on the nose. Great intensity. Fresh, with hints of liquorice and cocoa. Smooth on the palate, good balance between acidity and tannins. Long and generous.

Winemaking Notes: From 30-year-old Syrah vines on the Finca La Fuina vineyard, calcareous soils. Aged in stainless steel for 12 months and a further 12 months in bottle before being released to market. The label was designed by winemaker Fernando Grajales Ibarra’s cousin, who previously designed scarves for Hermès; it is designed to be reminiscent of an old ceramic Spanish bar sign, like the ones Fernando’s grandfather used to take him to. 2800 bottles total production.
