Tasting Note
A bright, energetic chilled red from Waiheke Island, made for immediate enjoyment. Light, fresh and bursting with red fruit, this is Merlot in a playful, nouveau-style frame, with juicy berry fruit, soft texture and a lively, easy-drinking finish. Best served lightly chilled.
Winemaking Notes
Hand-harvested early in the morning while the fruit was still cool. One portion of the fruit was destemmed and cold-soaked for five days, while the second portion underwent Beaujolais Nouveau-style carbonic maceration as whole bunches for three weeks. The wine was then gently pressed before a cool wild fermentation.
