19.0/10 – Jancis Robinson
100/100 – James Suckling
98/100 – Decanter
99/100 – Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate (2019 vintage)

“This is only just beginning to open up, but already the peach, melon and mint nose is already incredibly deep and delicate. Breathtaking minerality and vibrant grapefruit character electrify the totally focused palate. Almost endless finish. Drink  or hold.” – James Suckling

“It depends on the year whether Morstein, Hubacker or Kirchspiel will shine among Klaus-Peter Keller’s array of Grands Crus. Although this year, it is Abts E who is leading the pack. Abts E is a parcel in Brunnenhäuschen on limestone soil, well furnished with veins of water, hence performing well in drier years. The wine shows candied lemon peel and lime blossom as well as subtle hints of spice. Its high concentration and the zesty acidity have not yet integrated properly, but its grandeur is already evident.” – Decanter

Tasting Note: “The 2020er Abts E®, as it is referred to on the consumer label, is a bone-dry wine made from a selection of small-berried fruit picked in the Abtserde (hence the “Abts E®” play on word), which is a prime sector of the Westhofener Brunnenhäuschen vineyard. It offers a superbly floral and gorgeously aromatic nose of vineyard peach, orange blossom, almond cream, minty herbs, spices, and white flowers. The wine shines through its lightness and elegance on the superbly creamy and airy palate. The very long finish reveals great intensity and zest. This is a great elegant expression of dry Riesling in the making. 2028-2045” – Jean Fisch & David Rayer, Mosel Fine Wines
