93/100 – Falstaff Magazine
Tasting Note: Sonnenberg is a 1.4ha site, the soils of which are composed of a skeletal conglomerate of gray slate with loess and loam. Highly floral, lifted aromatics on the nose. Red fruits, think ripe strawberry and macerated cherries. Good acidity on the palate gives this a high-toned flourish in the finish, which is framed by firm tannins and a lingering cola/mocha note that preludes the elegant, lengthy finish. Extremely enjoyable today, but with potential to integrate further over the next five years.
