“A selection of the best fruit from their 100 or so little vineyard plots – usually where the vineyard is too small to warrant a single-vineyard bottling. 50% new oak. Beautiful red-fruited Pinot perfume. Quite a marked contrast with the Blauschiefer which seemed to be truculently avoiding the taster, this wine seems to delight in being charming. Bright juicy cherries, tannins so smooth and supple that they seem to be woven into the fruit rather than encasing it. A bit of spice on a dry and savoury finish. Satisfyingly long and very delicious.” – Jancis Robinson
“Plump, fleshy black cherry and berry flavors command this ripe, lusciously textured wine. It’s unabashedly forward in fruit, but is still an elegant, nuanced wine shaded by lingering tones of spice, crushed rock and smoke. Cranberry acidity extends through a long, persistent finish. Ready to drink now but should improve through 2021.” – Wine Enthusiast
Tasting Note: Hauntingly beautiful. Rose petals, caramelised plums, deep forests in early morning. A real step up in intensity and concentration. Seamlessly integrated and with a quiet power. It finishes long and bold and with a hint of dark char.
