The 2007 was a fine year for Providence. Fruit-set was particularly good in the Cabernet Franc and Malbec and good for the Merlot. The summer was characterised by small amounts of rainfall over the ripening season, but increasing fine periods towards harvest ensured complexity of fruit. At the time of harvest, the vines and bunches were in excellent condition.
Tasting Note: A vineyard determined blend of Cab Franc, Merlot, Syrah and Malbec. Extended maceration and aged for 24 months in 100% new French oak. The stunning 2007 vintage has produced a powerful expression of Providence. A strong wine with superior tannin and fruit structure. The palate is a balance of soft, dusty tannins, perfectly ripe berry-fruit sweetness and elegant fine oak in the background. Ripe berry fruits and beautiful lifted aromatics, underpinned by firm acidity and seductive tannins.
