Providence Private Reserve 1997
$299.00 inc. GST
Very rare library stock, shipped in original wooden cases from a temperature-controlled collection.
Tasting Note: The 1997 Providence vintage was cooler than usual, but satisfyingly dry – a bonus that gives the wine more character as a result. The intriguing nose offers up smoky bacon fat, dried herbs, and a metallic/ferric quality that is very particular to this vintage. This is a distinctive Providence, with a palate of macerated plums and more pronounced savoury notes than usual. It’s still remarkably fresh, and out of the three library-released wines (1996-1998) this is the one that opens up most with decanting. A true sensory experience, with further upside cellaring potential.
