“After making a very special late harvest Riesling off this site in 2023, I have decided — when the weather permits — to continue to pursue a botrytised-style from the Dragon Bones Vineyard. The weather was quite wet at the end of harvest, creating the perfect conditions for this wine to show itself. Making these wines outside of my winery will always be a challenge, so it requires the aid of many. My dear friends and growers, Tim Heyes and Ella McKelvey, who have allowed this dream to come to fruition. The innumerable souls on the ground in Waitaki, like Ian Dent who trucked my fruit, and Austin Black, who was there for me at a moment’s notice. My confidante and safe haven, Lynn Walsh, who gives me a sense of family when I can’t be with my own.
