“Certified organic, the 2019 vintage was estate-grown at Rapaura and handled in a mix of stainless-steel tanks (70 per cent) and seasoned oak barrels (30 per cent). Lees-aged for eight months, it is a pale gold, fleshy wine, with generous, ripe, stonefruit flavours, showing good complexity, balanced acidity and a dry (2.5 grams/litre of residual sugar) finish.” – Michael Cooper

“This is elegantly savoury with bright fruit flavours, showing peach, citrus peel, oatmeal and mushroom notes with a lovely spicy overtone. The palate displays beautifully rounded mouthfeel with silky flow, backed by juicy acidity, making it splendidly structured and lingering with a crisp dry finish.” – Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

“An intriguing grüner veltliner, with an initial impression of feijoa, lime, apple and nectarine leading to a spicy and slightly phenolic finish. I like the contrast in both flavour and texture, which add interest to the wine.” – Cameron Douglas MS

Tasting Note: This Grüner Veltliner has a complex bouquet of pear drops. spice. and musk with a soft palate of citrus. stone fruits. and white pepper characters.

Winemaking: The grapes were hand harvested with 50% of the bunches destemmed and with skin contact for 24 hours before being pressed.  The free run juice was then settled for 24 hours before being racked to a mixture of stainless-steel and seasoned oak barrels for indigenous fermentation.  The other 50% of bunches were also destemmed and fermented in a small stainless-steel fermenter on skins for 14 days prior to being pressed with the wine finishing fermentation in seasoned oak.  After 8 months of maturing on full lees the barrels were racked together, and the wine was prepared for bottling.
