Tasting Notes: A powerful and expressive Barolo with a ruby-red colour and garnet highlights. The nose is full and intense, with ripe red fruit, darker berry notes and a gently savoury depth. Full-bodied and enveloping on the palate, with structured tannins, generous concentration and a long, persistent finish.
Winemaking: Produced from 100% Nebbiolo grown in the Cerretta vineyard in Serralunga d’Alba. The vines are around 30 years old and the grapes are harvested in late October. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled tanks for 15 days. The wine is then aged for 12 months in French barriques, 50% of which are new, followed by 12 months in large barrels and a further 12 months in bottle. This is the inaugural release of Cerretta, with 2022 marking the first vintage produced.
