“Made from 70% 2018 syrah and 30% unoaked 2019 cabernets, petit verdot and tannat Elegant, supple red with floral, violet, blueberry, blackberry, fresh herbs and subtle spicy flavours. A silken-textured wine with an impressively lengthy finish. Drink 2021 to 2030.” – Bob Campbell MW

“Made with 70% Syrah from the 2018 vintage – aged two years in French barriques; and 30% 2019 vintage Cabernets, Petit Verdot and Tannat – unoaked. Aromas and flavours of dark berries, rocks, chocolate, toasty oak, a hint of mint, black currant and sweet purple olive. As the wine opens up the aromas lexicon increase. Textures from both fruit and wood tannins, medium+ acidity and flavours of berries, wood, spics and and non-fruit flavours from rocks to spices seep through the palate. Balanced, youthful, well made and drinkable upon purchase and through 2028+.” – Cameron Douglas MS

“The non-vintage wine currently on sale is a single-vineyard, hand-harvested red, based principally (70 per cent) on 2018 Syrah, aged for two years in French oak barriques, blended with unoaked 2019 “Cabernets/Petit Verdot/Tannat.” Already drinking well, it is mouthfilling and harmonious, with concentrated, ripe, spicy, plummy flavours, savoury and supple, and a strong sense of youthful drive. Very ageworthy.” – Michael Cooper

Tasting Note: “100% Waiheke coastal single site FHE vineyard. Hand tended vines, tiny crop yields, steep slopes and pedigree clones combine to provide an harmonious expression of this sacred site. A masterful combination of 70% 2018 syrah aged 2 years in french barriques with 30% 2019 unoaked bordeaux blend. PUKEKE is resilience and determination. Luc’s dedication to his mates.” – Winemaker’s notes
