“From the Calatayud region of Spain. Dense and spicy grenache with baked-earth, red and black fruits, new leather and dried herb flavours. A distinctive and appealing wine, with a core of sweet fruit that’s perfectly balanced by acidity and fine tannins to produce a vibrant wine with character. Good value at this price Drink: 2020 to 2024.” – Bob Campbell MW
Tasting Note: The wine exhibits great aromatic complexity and richness with mineral and blueberry notes leading to a savoury and spicy palate with good balance and acidity.
Winemaking Notes: The grapes come from vines that are 30-40 years old, with yields of 2T/Ha and located high on the hillsides, 700-900 metres above sea level. The vineyards are mainly planted in decomposed slate and gravel/clay soils. The fermentation was carried out in small stainless steel tanks for 15 days at temperatures below 27 C and then spent a short period of two months in French oak barrels.
Region: Calatayud, Spain
