A serious depth of fruit here with dried cherries and strawberries as well as candied lemons and ginger. Dried flowers too. Just a touch of smoke and flint. The medium-bodied palate has a lovely center and brightness in the finish. Goes on for minutes. A real handmade-wine feeling. Drink or hold. – James Suckling

Winemaking Notes: Sato Pisa Vineyard. Soil: Alluvial, sandy or silt loam with schist & quartz gravel. Viticulture: No pesticides, herbicides, systemic fungicides or inorganic fertilisers used. Harvest: Hand picked, 6 April 2022. 34 hl/ha. Vinification: Natural yeast fermentation. No whole bunch. 24 days on skins. No additives except for 15 mg/l sulphites before bottling. Maturation: 15 months in old French oak barrels. Bottled: 26 August 2023 without fining or filtration. 1147 bottles produced.
