95/100 – Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Wine Reviews
“Light ruby-red with some depth, faintly hazy (unfiltered), slightly lighter on the rim. This has a refined, delicate bouquet penetrating aromas of dried Bing cherry, dried raspberry, dark herbs and undergrowth melded with an amalgam of soft spice and dried floral. Medium-light bodied, aromas of dried cherry and dried raspberry enriched by dark herbs, liquorice, white mushroom, dried hibiscus, nutmeg, and cinnamon. The wine is elegant with integrated acidity and silky, supple tannins reflecting a black tea fragrance. The nicely developed Pinot Noir shows incredible complexity, delicate notes and a refined mouthfeel. Serve will black truffle pasta and duck over the next 5+ years. Handpicked clones UCD5, 115, 10/5, 777, and 667. Aged 18 months in oak, 25% new.” – Candice Chow
Tasting Note: A bouquet full of berry fruits, game, mushroom and dried herbs. Medium-full bodied, the palate has wonderfully rounded herb, berry and earthy mushroom flavours, held together by ripe fine grained tannins and finishes soft and smooth with a touch of spice
