Pakiaka Blanc 2019

$33.00 inc. GST

Translating to ‘Roots’ in te reo Māori, Pakiaka wines are a special branch of the Kemp Road series that are all about celebrating the purity of their origins through minimal intervention and micro-production. The roots of the grapevine signify the winemaker’s use of low-intervention techniques to preserve the sense of its place, while also expressing the origins of the Kemp Family / Rongowhakaata — all of which are intrinsically bound to Papatūānuku.

Tasting Note: Sauvignon Blanc from a small vineyard in Marlborough’s Wairau Valley, wild fermented 70% in 6-10 year old French oak barriques and 30% in tank. Redolent of florals and stone fruits, the palate is textural and perfectly balanced with natural acidity and a lengthy, soft finish. Residual sugar 1.2g/l, pH 3.34, TA 5.6
