94/100 – James Suckling
94/100 – Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate (2016 vintage)
“A very solid syrah with blackberry, crushed black peppercorn, slate and spice. Licorice and some clove, too. Medium- to full-bodied, chewy and firm with a dry and driven finish. Leather and smoke at the end. Drink or hold.” – James Suckling
Tasting Note: Vivid purple hue with opulent aromas of cassis, plum and dark cherries, carrying fragrant Christmas spices and rich roasted coffee notes. A vibrant entrance of black pepper, ripe whole berries and savoury sage, leading into layers of tobacco with lingering spice and structured, gamey tannins. A wine full of depth and vigour with a long cellaring potential. Cellar 8 to 15 years.
