Chateau Le Puy Emilien 2013 Magnum
$225.00 inc. GST
Chateau Le Puy is “surely one of Bordeaux’s most overlooked estates” according to Decanter’s Jane Anson
Tasting Note: This vintage was deemed stable enough during elevage to be bottled with zero sulphur. 85% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon, 1% Malbec, 1% Carmenere. A cooler vintage has worked in Le Puy’s favour, with crop levels down significantly but the resulting fruit very mild, delicate and earthy in expression. A fine perfumed nose of plums, mulberry, sandalwood, pot pourri and a range of exotic mushrooms. The palate is earthy, with rich tannins and a caressing, gentle finish. Shows Le Puy’s distinctive character to the full – there is simply nothing else like this blend being produced in Bordeaux today.
