“Mouth-filling, finely weaved dusty tannins framed the concentrated fruit and violet, layering with spice and tobacco nuances. Amiable and effortless, carrying to a lengthy closing.” – Candice Chow

A beautifully crafted red with blackcurrant, chocolate and violet aromas and flavors with very fine tannins and just a hint of sandalwood to the fruit at the finish. Medium-bodied with well-integrated tannins. A blend of merlot, cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc. Drink after 2026, but already gorgeous. – James Suckling

Tasting Note: Named for the head of Te Motu’s founding family, Terry Dunleavy, Kokoro means ‘the patriarch’ in Maori and ‘the heart of things’ in Japanese. A Merlot dominant blend with Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Syrah, hand-harvested from low-yielding vines, Kokoro is made in a more forward style to accentuate fruit ripeness and texture, this wine can be enjoyed in its youth but has the pedigree to improve for years to come. Kokoro is released 20 months after vintage.
