Karikari Estate

“Powerful and opulent, the richly fruited bouquet shows grilled stone fruit, pineapple, vanilla and hazelnut characters, followed by a concentrated palate that is plush and velvety.”
– Sam Kim on the 2015 Chardonnay, rated 94 points

Our Story

Karikari Estate is New Zealand’s northernmost vineyard and winery set in the historical home of New Zealand’s internationally recognized wine industry. Nestled on Northland’s stunning Karikari Peninsula, the vineyard looks over the rolling coastal land of Carrington Farms, towards the very top of the far north of New Zealand.

Karikari Estate captures the rich and unique characteristics of the vineyard and produces intensely flavoured and stylish award winning wines that will continue to captivate.

The unique climate and soils of the Karikari Peninsula combine to produce, full bodied and distinctive wines. Karikari Estate is planted out in Chardonnay, Pinotage, Merlot, Syrah and Tannant. Every decision we make in the vineyard is supported by our careful work in the winery.

Karikari’s vineyard culture is based on local knowledge and local character. The whole project of soil management, vine pruning and training and nurturing the vines through the fruit growing season is done in concert with the winery team under the management of our experienced winemaker Allan Collinson
