Chene Bleu Heloïse 2014

$195.00 inc. GST

Peter Abelard was a medieval French scholar, theologian and logician who had a legendary love affair with Heloise, a brilliant scholar of Latin, Greek and Hebrew. Together they represent the coming-together of minds and passion, and are history’s ultimate “power couple”. Grenache-predominant Abelard is the more brooding and masculine, while Syrah-predominant Heloise is the more delicate and feminine.

“The 2014 Vaucluse Heloise brings more up-front ripeness than the 2013, with a perfumed bouquet of red and black berries, smoked meat, bay leaf, peppery garrigue, and leather. Beautiful on the palate as well, it’s medium to full-bodied, has a lively, round mouthfeel, still present tannins, and a great finish. This is a heck of an effort in 2014, and it’s drinking fabulous well today.” – Jeb Dunnuck

Tasting Note: 70% Syrah, 26% Grenache, 4% Roussanne.
